After studying at the ECAL in Lausanne and the Art Center College of Design (Europe) in La Tour-de-Peilz, Frédéric Dedelley (b. 1964) opened a design studio in Zurich in 1995. His designs, whether strictly functional or symbolically charged, whether product or interior, are characterized by a narrative approach and are often inspired by examples of anonymous design that Dedelley tracks down on his travels as a “design detective.” The wood-planked room divider, for example, brings to mind hedges or temporary wood cladding. It can be freely positioned in space and needs no supports thanks to its snake-like flexibility.
