The Museum für Gestaltung Zürich and the Swiss National Museum share a rich history. The former Kunstgewerbeschule (School of Applied Arts) and Kunstgewerbemuseum (Museum of Applied Arts) were housed in the National Museum from 1898 to 1933. Today, the two sites are connected by a walking route through Platzspitzpark. Along the way, 11 stations provide background information on architecture and landscape design in the area and their history.
