Wolfgang Weingart - Mixed Techniques
Wolfgang Weingart (b. 1941) uses the technologies of his time to experiment, testing the creative possibilities of lead type, photo-optics, litho film, Xerox, the computer (with students), and, starting in the 1990s, the color copier. In the process, he often combines old with new technology. For the cover of the magazine Design Quarterly, for example, he generated colorful patterned letters through multiple copy runs, which he assembled into collages by hand using MacPaint font samples.
