Stéphanie Baechler’s interest in the relationship between fashion and the body began with her final thesis in textile design at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. After earning her master’s degree at the ArtEZ Academy in the Netherlands, Baechler created textiles for the fashion designer Hussein Chalayan and in 2014 began to translate textile structures into ceramics. For her innovative research project at the crossroads between textiles, fashion, and art, she was recognized with the Design Award of the Swiss Confederation.
