Martin Woodtli’s (b. 1971) exhibition posters for the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich have a serial character and yet each conveys its message in a visually autonomous fashion. For an exhibition about scientific images, Woodtli used an experimental graphic approach, multiplying and varying the symbols through repetition and then integrating them into a complex structure. He thus manages to illustrate the subject matter in a way that is both immediately comprehensible and aesthetically appealing.
