Lora Lamm – La Rinascente

Zurich-trained Lora Lamm (b. 1928) designed comprehensive advertising campaigns as well as decorative patterns for Milan’s La Rinascente department store from 1954 to 1962. In the process, she developed her own illustrative look that went beyond the Constructivist Swiss Style in graphic design. Her style stems both from her own penchant for drawing as well as the need to address a female audience, which she was better able to reach with her charming illustrations than with aloof, businesslike graphics.
