After his successful poster
Protect the child!
(1953) for the Automobile Club of Switzerland, Josef Müller-Brockmann (1914–1996) was hired for further accident- and noise-prevention campaigns. Since the photomontage technique had worked out so well for him, he continued to work with photographers: first Ernst A. Heiniger, and then Serge Libiszweski, René Burri, Peter Huber, and other graduates of the Zurich photography course. They were not afraid to experiment, which in turn inspired Müller-Brockmann’s own creativity.
