Advertisements for alcoholic beverages quickly claimed a firm place in the history of the poster. Some of them even became icons—such as the elegant Cinzano poster by Jean-Pierre Otth (1924–1988). A floating gloved lady offers us a toast, her facial features rendered in reduced fashion. The dainty vermouth glass and distinctive lettering vividly convey the message of the manufacturer, which started early on engaging renowned artists to present its products.
